We all know hair primarily constitutes of proteins and since eggs contain proteins that promotes hair growth and nourishes hair, I decided to go back to my old ways. Eggs make the hair strong, prevent breakage and what’s more they are super cheap. Now- I stopped using eggs only because I had issues with the smell. Oh! Does it bring back memories of my college days?! But I mix them with other ingredients and there is no smell at all. “ woop woop”! Happy days!
The other ingredients I use are avocados, yogurt, olive oil and Jamaican castor oil. The mask will make your hair soft, nourished and shiny. But if you have a soft hair already and you want that extra volume and texture you can add coffee to it. Instant coffee!
Avocado is rich in vitamin E which also protects and strengths hair and it’s an effective natural remedy for treating hair loss and it’s good for the scalp too.
Tip: if your avocado is not soft and ready to be used, put it in your freezer. I do that all the time, and when I need it I simply take it out at least 2 hours before I want to use it. For instance, if I know I’m gonna make a mask tomorrow, I will buy an avocado today and leave it in the freezer over night and take it out in the morning. The skin will literally peel its self off. The above picture is an evidence.
- you need one avocado
- 5-6 tablespoons of yogurt ( depending on how long and voluminous your hair is)
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of Jamaican black castor oil
- You will also need a mixer which will make your life easier to mix all the ingredients together
This is what you’ll get in the end:
Keep it on for 3 hours if you have time, if not 2 is just fine. I do mine on Saturday mornings when I’m doing laundry or cleaning my flat. Use this treatment twice a week. Make sure to massage your scalp with the goodness and put on a shower cap or a plastic bag to retain heat. Rinse it out with water first and then wash your hair with organic shampoo. I will show you how to make a chemical free shampoo at home later. but for now peace and harmony!
